Charanjit Singh Channi is the newly elected Chief Minister of Punjab. He is the 1st CM from the scheduled caste community. He is currently the state’s Technical Education Minister and is a 3 time MLA from Chamkaur Sahib Constituency.

He joined Congress in 2012. Channi has been involved in some controversies throughout his political career.
