Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025: A Historic Movement Transforming Exam Stress into a Nationwide Celebration of Learning, with Over 5 Crore Participants and Engaging Activities

Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC), an initiative by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has witnessed an extraordinary transformation since its inception in 2018. The 8th edition of PPC, held in 2025, marked a significant milestone, garnering over 5 crore participants nationwide. This year’s edition was not just another event but a full-fledged movement, embodying the spirit of “Jan Andolan” (People’s Movement), reflecting a nationwide commitment to transforming exam stress into a celebration of learning.
Unprecedented Growth: A Reflection of National Awareness
The 8th edition of PPC was nothing short of historic. With 3.56 crore registrations, it saw a massive increase of 1.3 crore participants from the previous year’s edition, which had 2.26 crore registrations. The overwhelming growth in participation underlines the ever-growing awareness among students, parents, and educators about the importance of mental health and holistic education in the context of exams. What began as an initiative to ease exam-related stress is now a national movement aimed at bringing positive change to the educational landscape of India.
PPC as a People’s Movement
The success of PPC 2025 has transcended the boundaries of a conventional event. The initiative has not only gained popularity among students but has also resonated with teachers, parents, and citizens across the country. Its focus on de-stressing the exam process and viewing exams as a festival—“Utsav”—has struck a deep chord with the masses, making it a movement that seeks to change the way India approaches exams. The initiative’s success in building this awareness speaks volumes about the growing understanding of the need for emotional and mental well-being, alongside academic excellence.
Engaging Nationwide Activities: A Festival of Learning
PPC 2025 was designed to be more than just a program hosted by the Prime Minister. It was a nationwide celebration, bringing together students, teachers, and parents through a series of activities aimed at reducing stress, improving focus, and preparing students for exams and life beyond them. These activities, conducted from 12th January (National Youth Day) to 23rd January (Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti), were organized at the school level across all States and Union Territories.
Participation Across Demographics
A staggering 1.42 crore students, 12.81 lakh teachers, and 2.94 lakh schools across India participated in the various PPC activities. These activities were designed to promote not only academic well-being but also physical fitness, creativity, and mindfulness. Indigenous games like Kho-Kho and Kabaddi were played, along with short-distance marathons and creative competitions such as meme-making, poster-designing, and Nukkad Natak (street plays). These were all aimed at creating a festive atmosphere while addressing the concerns of students facing exam stress.
Yoga, Meditation, and Mindfulness
Among the activities that stood out were those focused on relaxation and mindfulness. Yoga and meditation sessions were organized in schools to teach students how to calm their minds, focus better, and approach exams with a peaceful mindset. These practices aimed to reduce the stress that often overwhelms students before exams, thus helping them maintain mental clarity and composure.
Screening of Inspirational Stories: The “Bharat Hai Hum” Series
A major highlight of PPC 2025 was the screening of the “Bharat Hai Hum” series, an inspirational collection of stories that showcase India’s glorious past, brimming with valor, sacrifice, and the spirit of unity. The screening took place on 23rd January 2025, and it set the stage for the quiz competition that followed.
A Nationwide Quiz Competition
To further engage students and strengthen the lessons from the “Bharat Hai Hum” series, a nationwide quiz competition was organized across 567 Kendriya Vidyalayas. The quiz saw participation from a wide range of schools, including 55,961 students from Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, PM SHRI Schools, CBSE-affiliated schools, and State Board schools. The quiz tested students’ knowledge of India’s history, heritage, and the lessons imparted through the series, reinforcing the values of discipline, perseverance, and the spirit of nationalism.
Rewards and Recognition
The quiz competition was not just a learning experience but also an opportunity for students to showcase their knowledge. Prizes were awarded to the winners, and all participants received a copy of “Exam Warriors,” a book authored by Prime Minister Modi. The book, which focuses on ways to manage exam stress and adopt a positive approach to education, was distributed to all quiz participants as a token of appreciation for their engagement.
A Resounding Success: Impact of Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025
The 8th edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha has proven to be a resounding success, further solidifying its place as a pivotal initiative in the Indian education system. It has not only transformed the perception of exams but has also encouraged students to adopt a more balanced and positive approach toward learning. The unprecedented participation in the event, the widespread engagement in nationwide activities, and the success of the quiz competition all serve as a testament to the immense impact PPC has had on the nation’s educational landscape.
By fostering an environment where students, teachers, and parents collaborate and share in the joys and challenges of education, PPC has become a true celebration of learning. With its growing reach and impact, Pariksha Pe Charcha is set to become a cornerstone in India’s journey toward creating a more supportive, mentally aware, and academically enriched society.
Looking Ahead: The Future of Pariksha Pe Charcha
The success of Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025 is only the beginning. As the initiative grows in popularity and impact, it is poised to reach even greater heights in the coming years. With a continued focus on de-stressing the exam process and promoting the holistic development of students, PPC will undoubtedly remain a key element of India’s educational reforms for years to come.
In conclusion, Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025 has not only become a celebration of academic achievement but has also emerged as a platform for fostering mental well-being, creativity, and community engagement. The initiative has redefined the way India approaches exams, turning what was once a source of anxiety into an event that brings students and educators together in the pursuit of learning and growth.
